As a pediatrician - fellow neonatology with special interest in pediatric cardiology I have been involved as PhD student in the BeNeDuctus trial to investigate wheter expectant management of a patent ductus arteriosus in extreme prematurity is non-inferior to early ibuprofen treatment.
In daily practice at our unit we frequently perform neonatologist perfomed echocardiography for PDA status and hemodynamic evaluation (PPHN, shock, ECMO).
