I have a sub-specialty and research interest in cardiovascular genetics, currently running the paediatric Inherited Cardiac Conditions Service in Dublin, Ireland as part of ERN Guard Heart EU-affiliated service. I trained in Boston Children's Hospital with a clinical focus on inherited heart disease and my MD was on cardiovascular genetics (Gata4/ Gata6 murine postnatal knock-out model using Cre Recombinase and serial echocardiography / PCR / histology). I participate in patient-specific iPSC research into Long QT syndrome and collaborate with teams engaged with CRISPR/ Cas9 gene editing technologies.
I have followed with interest the genetic contributors of human congenital heart disease.
