Leo Lopez

Leo Lopez, MD, is the Medical Director of Echocardiography at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford and Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Stanford University School of Medicine. He is a former President of the Society of Pediatric Echocardiography, past Chair of the American Society of Echocardiography Council on Pediatric and Congenital Heart Disease, current President of the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission Echocardiography, and current Vice-President of the International Society for Nomenclature of Paediatric and Congenital Heart Disease. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and completed his pediatric residency and pediatric cardiology fellowship at Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. His research interests include pediatric echocardiographic quantification, quality metrics for cardiac noninvasive imaging, and ventricular mechanics and remodeling.
