Katya De Groote is professor in Paediatric and Fetal Cardiology at the faculty of Medicine and Health Science of Ghent University, Ghent, Belgium. Since 2002, she is working as a Paediatric and Fetal Cardiologist in the department of Pediatrics at the Ghent University Hospital (Belgium). Her clinical interests and fields of expertise are: fetal cardiology, congenital aortopathy, Turner syndrome, cardiomyopathy (in metabolic disease), the psychosocial impact of congenital heart disease (CHD) on patients and their family and transition/transfer of patients with CHD.
Katya De Groote is chair of the working group on Psychosocial care and Neurodevelopment of the Association for European Paediatric and Congenital Cardiology (AEPC) and an active member the ethical committee of Ghent University Hospital.
