Graham Stuart

Professor Stuart is a consultant cardiologist who has worked with children and adults for over 30 years. His clinical interest is in cardiac electrophysiology and in the management of young people with arrhythmias and inherited cardiac disease. He is a Sports Cardiologist and has run a clinic for recreational and elite athletes for over 15 years through SportscardiologyUK. His current research is primarily in exercise prescription and in the management of the teenage athlete and he has published over 250 papers in peer reviewed journals. He is a keen recreational endurance athlete and has run multiple marathons, triathlons ( including 2 ironmen) and in 2022 he rowed the Atlantic in 41 days making him the oldest Scot to have completed such a crazy feat of endurance. He has completed all the above with a notable absence of natural talent! His research aim is to make exercise prescription a key component of the management of young people with heart disease. His personal ambition is to see Scotland win the Rugby world cup with at least 2 of his grandchildren scoring tries in the final match.
