David Barron

David Barron is Division Head of Cardiac Surgery at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, having previously been at Birmingham Children's Hospital in the UK for 20 years.. He holds the CIT Group Chair in Cardiac Surgery and is Professor of Surgery at the University of Toronto. He has particular interest in ccTGA, Hypoplastic Left Heart and in MAPCA surgery. He leads the faculty for the CHSS data centre in Toronto and sits on the editorial board of JTCVS, EJCTS and the World Journal. He is a dually qualified in cardiac surgery (FRCS.CT) and internal medicine (FRCP) and has struggled throughout his life with the frustration of being a Newcastle United fan.
